Moore, Eliakim Hastings

surveyor, banker, congressman, was born June 19, 1812, in Worcester county, Mass.

From 1836 to 1846 he was county surveyor of Ohio; and from 1846 to 1860 county auditor. He was a director, and then president for many years, of the Athens branch of the State Bank of Ohio, and subsequently of the First National bank of Athens. In 1862 he was appointed a collector of internal revenue; and in 1868 was elected a representative from Ohio to the forty-first congress.
