Mitchell, Alfred
lawyer, jurist, was born in 1841 in England. In 1879 he emigrated to the United States; and has since attained success as an able lawyer in the state of New York. For sixteen years he served in various capacities for the Equitable Mercantile company of New York city, and is now dean of its legal staff. He served as a police justice of Whitestone, Long Island, N. Y.; and his name is frequently mentioned for the office of justice for his division of the recently enacted Greater New York city.
