Mcclurg, James
physician, author, was born in 1747, in Hampton, Va. He published an Essay on the Human Bile, which was translated into several languages. He is also the author of a paper on Reasoning in Medicine, in the Philadelphia Journal of the Medical Physical Sciences. He died July 9, 1825, in Richmond, Va.
MCCLURG, JOSEPH WASHINGTON, soldier, merchant, lawyer, congressman, governor, was born Feb. 22, 1818, in St.
Louis county, Mo. He was a member of the Missouri state convention in 1862; and was elected a representative from Missouri to the thirty-eighth congress.
He was re-elected to the thirty-ninth and fortieth congresses. In 1868 he was elected governor of Missouri.
