Mcclary, John Kennedy
farmer. educator, lawyer, legislator, was born April 7, 1834, in Garrard county, Ky. In his early days he taught school; has been sheriff; master commissioner; and census enumerator.
In 1867 he was elected a member of the Kentucky state legislature as a republican; and was reelected to that office the following term, and took an active part in the deliberations of that body. In 1868 he was a delegate to the national republican convention which nominated General Grant for president. He has been a county surveyor; merchant; farmer; and now practices law in Mount Vernon, Ky.
