Lyda, Andrew Jackson

clergyman, was born Jan. 14, 1821, in Hancock, Md. He graduated from the Augusta college of Kentucky; was admitted into the Ohio conference of the methodist episcopal church in 1843, and was one of the charter members of the West Virginia conference. During the civil war he was chaplain of the third regiment of the Virginia volunteer infantry, and of the sixth Virginia cavalry. He has been agent of the West Virginia Conference seminary of the methodist episcopal church; and in 1868 was a delegate to the general conference held in Chicago, Ill. He now fills a pastorate in Malden, W. Va.
