Looker, Othniel
lawyer, jurist, state senator, governor, was born Oct. 4, 1757, on Long Island, N.Y. He served five years in the revolutionary army; and also served in both branches of the New York legislature. In 1804 he moved to Ohio, where he served for many years in the state senate. In 1814 became governor by virtue of his office as speaker of the senate, and was for seven years a judge of the court of common pleas. He died April 5, 1845, in Palestine, Ill.
