Locke, Maurice E

educator, lawyer, was born Feb. 12, 1861, in Frankfort, Ill. In 1876 he graduated from the high school of Kentland, Ind.; attended a normal school at Valparaiso, and studied several languages under private tutors. In early life he taught school; then was engaged in journalistic work; and in 1879 was admitted to the bar. For three years he was president of a national bank; and subsequently has been successfully engaged in other businesses. In 1891 he resumed the practice of the law in Dallas.
