Little, Joseph J
soldier, journalist, state legislator, congressman, was born June 5, 1841, in England. He served in the union army in 1862, in 1863 and 1864 as corporal, first sergeant and first lieutenant. He was a member of the board of education and chairman of committee on buildings at the time of his election to congress; and was an active member of the New York World's Fair committee.
He was named as one of the incorporators in the World's Fair bill passed by the New York legislature, as also in the congressional bill introduced on behalf of New York. He was elected to the fiftysecond congress as a democrat to fill a vacancy.
