Linton, Irwin Breece
lawyer, public official, was born Sept. 4, 1852, in Norristown, Pa. He received his education in the public schools of Washington, D. C., and graduated from the law school of the Columbian university. He is a successful lawyer of Washington, D. C.; was clerk of the congressional committee which impeached Hon. W. W. Belknap, secretary of war; and was also clerk of the Potter congressional committee, which investigated the alleged Hayes- Tilden election frauds of 1876. For many years he served as secretary of Justice Field of the United States supreme court.
