Linn, James Merrill
soldier, lawyer, was born Oct. 17, 1833, in Lewisburg, Pa. In 1854 he was admitted to the bar; and was actively engaged in his profession until his death. During the civil war he bore a commission as second lieutenant in the fourth Pennsylvania regiment; was commissioned captain in the fifty-first regiment; and subsequently served on the staffs of various generals.
In 1871 he received a commission as judge advocate with the rank of major in the eighth division of the Pennsylvania national guard. He died Feb. 23, 1897, in Lewisburg, Pa.
