Lawler, Joab
clergyman, state senator, congressman, was born June 12, 1796, in North Carolina. In 1826 he was elected to the lower house of the Alabama legislature; and was re-elected until 1831, in which year he was elected to the state senate. In 1832 he was appointed receiver of public moneys for the Coosa land district, and held the office until 1835. He was a representative in congress from Alabama from 1835 to 1838. He died May 8, 1838, in Washington, D. C.
