Lambert, John J
soldier, journalist, was born Jan. 19, 1837, in Ireland. During the civil war he served with distinction in the union army, first as lieutenant, and later as captain of company I, ninth regiment, Iowa volunteer cavalry, until 1866. He afterward was commissioned a second lieutenant in the regular army. Since 1870 he has been editor of The Daily Chieftain of Pueblo, Colo.
In 1890 he was appointed receiver of the United States land office at Pueblo for four years.
