Kitchin, William Walton
journalist, lawyer, congressman, was born Oct. 9, 1866, near Scotland Neck, N. C.
He was educated at Vine Hill academy and Wake Forest college, where he graduated in 1884.
He edited the Scotland Neck Democrat in 1885. After studying law, first under his father, Hon. W. H. Kitchin, and then at the university of North Carolina, he was admitted to the bar in 1887. He located at Roxboro in 1888, where he still practices his profession. He was chairman of the county executive committee in 1890; and was elected to the fifty-fifth congress as a democrat. man.
