Kennedy, William Riddell

lawyer, jurist, was born March 27, 1844, in Springfield, Pa. He received the rudiments of his education at the common schools; attended the Normal academy of West Chester, Pa.; and one term in the law department of the Douglass university of Chicago. In 1876 he was a member of the constitutional convention of Colorado; has been county attorney of Hinsdale county; city attorney of Leadville; judge of probate of Gilpin county, Colo.; and secretary of the state senate of the ninth general assembly of Colorado. He is one of the leading lawyers of the west, and has a large practice in Leadville, where he takes a prominent part in the public affairs of Colorado.
