Jones, Benjamin Franklin
manufacturer, was born Aug. 8, 1826, in Washington county, Pa. In 1852 he established the American Iron works of Pittsburg, and subsequently purchased the Monongahela Iron works. He is now the senior member of Jones and Laughlin, which has an aggregate capital of five million dollars. He has taken an active part in the business and public affairs of his city and state; is president of the American Iron and Steel association; and has served with distinction as chairman of the republican national committee.
