JACOBI, MRS. MARY (PUTNAM), physician, author, was born Aug. 31, 1842, in London, England. She is a physician of prominence in New York city, and the first woman to enter and graduate from Ecole de Médecine in Paris. She is the author of The Value of Life; Cold Pack and Anæmia; Hysteria, and Other Essays; The Martyr to Science; Studies in Primary Education; Common Sense Applied to Woman Suffrage; Manual of Nursing; and Found and Lost.
