He was a delegate from Georgia to the continental congress from 1784 to 1787; and was a member of the convention which framed the federal constitution, but did not sign the instrument.
HOUSTON, WILLIAM CHURCHILL, educator, congressman, was born in 1740 in Cabarrus county, N. C. He was a professor of mathematics in Princeton college. He was a delegate from New Jersey to the continental congress from 1779 to 1782, and again in 1784 and 1785. He died Aug. 12, 1788, in Frankfort, Pa.
HOUSWORTH, WILLIAM EUGENE, educator, lawyer, author, was born Nov. 7, 1853, in Selin's Grove, Pa. He learned the printer's trade; then took up educational work for about twelve years; and in 1880 was admitted to the bar. He is the author of a number of meritorious poems; and is known in central Pennsylvania as the bard of the Susquehanna.
