HEWITT, CHARLES NATHANIEL, physician, educator, was born June 3, 1836, in Vergennes, Vt. He entered the United States army as assistant surgeon of the fiftieth New York regiment, and rose to the rank of brigade surgeon. After the war he removed to Red Wing, Minn., Wing, Minn., where he is professor of public health in the university of Minnesota .
