Herron, Joseph D
clergyman, poet, was born Nov. 4, 1853, in Kirtland, Ohio.
He received a liberal education and studied theology in the leading seminaries in America. He has filled but two positions in fifteen years of his ministry-assistant minister in Trinity parish of New York city; and rector of Trinity church of New Castle, Pa., in which latter church he is still pastor. Since his youth he has had a great love for music, and has set many of his poems to music, some of which have been rendered by choruses of children in New York city and other cities. He is the author of a number of poems of rare merit, which have been included in Poets of America, and various other national collections.
