Herrick, Anson
journalist, congressman, was born Jan. 21, 1812, in Lewiston, Maine. He commenced the publication of a weekly journal now called the New York Atlas in 1853. He was appointed naval storekeeper for New York, which office he held until 1861. In 1862 he was elected a representative from New York to the thirty-eighth congress. He died Feb. 5, 1868, in New York city.
HERRICK, MRS. CHRISTINE [TER- HUNE], author, was born in 1859, in New Jersey. She is a writer of New York city who has written much upon housekeeping themes; and is the author of Housekeeping Made Easy; The Chafing-Dish Supper; The Little Dinner; What to Eat, How to Serve It; Cradle and Nursery; and Liberal Living upon Narrow Means.
