Hatch, Riley Burnham

lawyer, legislator, was born Oct. 19, 1832, in Williamstown, Vt. He was fitted for college at the New Salem academy of Massachusetts, at Saxton's River, Vt.; and graduated from the Middlebury college of Vermont with honors in the class of 1857. During 1868-69 he was a member of the state legislature of New Hampshire; and he again served with distinction as a member of that body in 1893. In 1889 he served as a member of the New Hampshire constitutional convention. He is one of the foremost lawyers of New England; is connected with various banking institutions; and has contributed quite extensively to periodical literature.
