Hart, Joseph J

journalist, business man, congressman, was born April 18, 1859, in Nyack, N. Y. He attended the schools of his native village and the Charlier institute of New York city, from which institution he graduated in 1876; became bookkeeper in grain warehouse in Brooklyn; on attaining his majorſty returned to Nyack and purchased City and Country, the leading a democratic newspaper of the section, which he successfully conducted until 1883, when he removed to Pike county, Pa., where he has since resided. He is engaged in insurance and real estate business at Milford. He was elected to the fifty-fourth congress as a democrat.
