Harrity, William F

lawyer, politician, was born Oct. 19, 1850, in Wilmington, Del. He received his education in the public and private schools and St. Mary's college, in his native city; and in 1871 graduated from the LaSalle college, of Philadelphia, Pa., with the degree of M. A. During 1885- 89 he was postmaster at Philadelphia; secretary of the state of Pennsylvania during 1891-95; and chairman of the democratic national committee during 1892-96. He has attained success as an astute lawyer of Philadelphia, Pa., where he is also president of the Equitable Trust company.
