Halsey, Charles Storrs
educator, author, was born Dec. 20, 1834, in Cambria, N. Y. In 1856 he graduated from Williams college, and since that time has been gaged in educational work. For twentytwo years he has been principal of the Union Classical institute of Schenectady, which position he resigned in 1897.
He is the author of Genealogical and Chronological Chart of the Rulers of England, Scotland, France , Germany and Spain; Etymology of Latin and Greek; and other works.
HALSEY, GEORGE ARMSTRONG, manufacturer, congressman, was born Dec. 7, 1827, in Springfield, N. J. In 1861 and 1862 he was elected to the state assembly; and in the latter year was appointed assessor of internal revenue for the fifth district of New Jersey, which office he held until 1866. He was elected a representative from New Jersey to the fortieth congress. In 1864 was collector of internal revenue at Newark, N. J.; and was elected to the forty-second congress.
