Hall, Darwin S
soldier, journalist, congressman, was born in 1844 in Kenosha county, Wis. He was elected county auditor of Renville county, Minn., in 1869 and 1871, and established and edited the Renville Times for several years, and was clerk of the district court in 1873-77.
He was elected to the legislature in 1876; was appointed register of the United States land office at Benson in 1878 and 1882, and was elected to the state senate in 1886 for a term of four years. He served in company K, forty-second Wisconsin volunteer infantry, as a private during the civil war, and was elected to the fifty-first congress as a republican.
