Hall, Arethusa
educator, author, was born Oct. 13, 1802, in Huntington, Mass. She was an educator in New England, and subsequently in the Packer institute, Brooklyn. The poet Whittier was one of her early pupils. She was the author of Manual of Morals; Life of Sylvester Judd; Memorials of S. Judd, Senior; and Thoughts of Pascal, a translation. She died in 1891. HALL, ARTHUR CRAWSHAY ALLS- TON, bishop, author, was born April 12, 1847, in England. He is the third protestant episcopal bishop of Vermont. He was for many years in charge of the mission of the Cowley Fathers in Boston. He is the author of Confession and the Lambeth Conference; Meditations on the Creed; Meditations on the Collects; and The Example of the Passion.
