Griffith, George Bancroft

author, poet, was born Feb. 28, 1841, in Newburyport, Mass. As the editor and author of The Poets of Maine, and The Poets of Massachusetts, he has become well known. Mr.

Griffith has written extensively for the leading newspapers and magazines of America; and number of his beautiful poems have been incorporated in Poets of America a and other standard works. George Bancroft Griffith is one of the editors of this work; and has written succinct biographies of many prominent men of the New England states.
