Goodin, John R
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born Dec. 14, 1836, in Tiffin, Ohio. In 1859 he removed to Humboldt, Kas.; and in 1866 was elected a representative in the state legislature. In 1867 he was elected judge of the seventh judicial district for the term of four years; was re-elected in 1871; and resigned in 1875, to take his seat as a representative from Kansas to the fortyfourth congress.. GOODING, A. A., soldier, lawyer, jurist, was born Feb. 20, 1833, in Cannon county, Tenn. He was sergeant in company B, second regiment Tennessee infantry, and was a prisoner of war on Belle Isle, Va., for five months. For eight years he was United States clerk of the circuit court; and for four years was judge of the county court. He is a successful lawyer of Jamestown, Tenn.; and was postmaster of his city during 1889-93.
GOODKNIGHT, JAMES LINCOLN, clergyman, college president, was born Aug. 24, 1846, in Allen county, Ky. Since 1895 he has been president of the West Virginia university at Morgantown.
