Freeman, Frederick
clergyman, educator, author, was born in 1800 in Sandwich, Mass. He was an episcopal clergyman and educator who was a presbyterian minister in the earlier portion of his career. He was the author of History of Cape Cod; Annals of Barnstable County; Freeman Genealogy; and Civilization and Barbarism illustrated by Especial Reference to Metacomet and the Extinction of his Race. He died in 1883 in Sandwich, Mass.
FREEMAN, GEORGE WASHINGTON, protestant episcopal bishop, was born June 13, 1789, in Sandwich, Mass. He was elected missionary bishop of Arkansas and the Indian Territory, and was consecrated in St. Peter's church, Philadelphia, in 1844. He died April 29, 1858, in Little Rock, Ark.
