Finley, H. F
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born Jan. 18, 1833. He was elected to the state legislature in 1861- 62. He was elected commonwealth's attorney in 1862 for six years, which office he resigned in 1866; was re-elected in 1867, and again in 1868 for six years. He was elected to the state senate in 1875; was appointed United States district attorney for Kentucky in 1876, and was elected judge of the fifteenth circuit in 1880, for six years. He was elected to the fiftieth and fifty-first congresses as a republican.
