Fairchild, Ben L

lawyer, congressman, was born Jan. 5, 1863, in Sweden, N. Y. He is a successful lawyer of New York city, and has large real estate investments in Westchester county, adjoining New York city. He was the candidate of his party for delegate to the state constitutional convention in 1893; and was elected to the fifty-fourth congress as a republican.

FAIRCHILD, CHARLES STEBBINS, lawyer, financier, was born April 30, 1842, in Cazenovia, N. Y. In 1874 he was appointed deputy attorney general of the state of New York; and became attorney general. In 1885 he was appointed assistant secretary of the United States treasury department. He is a successful lawyer of New York city; has been president of the State Charities Aid association; and is now president of the New York Security and Trust company.
