Durham, Milton Jamison

lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born May 16, 1824, in Mercer county, Ky. He was a circuit judge of Kentucky in 1861-62. He was elected to the forty-third congress, and re-elected to the forty-fourth congress. In 1875 he was appointed chairman of the committee on revision of laws; and re-elected to the forty-fifth congress. 1885 he was appointed first comptroller of the United States treasury.

In DURIVAGE, FRANCIS ALEXANDER, author, was born in 1814 in Massachusetts.

He was a magazinist of Boston, among whose writings are The Fatal Casket; Life Scenes from the World Around Us; and Cyclopedia of History. He died in 1881.
