Doyle, Richard Devereux

lawyer, poet, was born Oct. 8, 1850, in Norfolk, Va. After receiving the degree of bachelor of law at the university of Virginia, and graduating in moral philosophy and logic, he went to Indianapolis and there practiced law and edited a weekly newspaper. He lately became assistant attorney-general of the state of Indiana. He is still engaged in the practice of law in his native city, where he has filled all the high offices in the gift of his city and county. His poems have been incorporated in several standard works.
