Douglass, George Lyon
lawyer, legislator, was born April 3, 1853, in Erie, Pa. He served with distinction as a member of the Kansas legislature, and in 1893 was speaker of what was known as the Douglass house, which the supreme court decided was the lawful house of representatives of the state. He is one of the foremost lawyers of the west at Wichita, Kan., and in 1891 was counsel for the state in the impeachment trial of Judge Botkin before the Kansas state senate.
