Davidson, Robert H. M

soldier, lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born Sept. 23, 1832, in Gadsden, Fla. He served two terms as a representative in the state legislature; and was elected a state senator in 1860. He retired from the senate in 1862 and entered the confederate army, rising to the rank of lieutenant-colonel. He was a member of the state constitutional convention of 1865; and was elected a representative from Florida to the forty-fifth, forty-sixth, forty-seventh, forty-eighth, forty-ninth, fiftieth, and fifty-first congresses as a democrat.
