Curtis, George Ticknor

lawyer, author, was born Nov. 28, 1812, in Watertown, Mass. He was an eminent lawyer of New York city, well known as a legal writer and biographer. He was the author of Digest of English and American Admiralty Decisions; Digest of Decisions of Courts of Common Law and Admiralty in the United States; American Conveyancer; Law of Patents; Equity Precedents; Inventor's Manual; Law of Copyright; Rights and Duties of Merchant Seamen; Commentaries on the Jurisprudence, Practice, and Peculiar Jurisdiction of United States Courts; A History of the Constitution of the United States; Life of James Buchanan; Life of Daniel Webster; Creation or Evolution; Last Years of Daniel Webster; and John Charaxes, a novel. He died in 1894.
