Cravens, Jordan E
soldier, lawyer, state senator, congressman, was born Nov. 7, 1830, in Fredericktown, Mo. He was a representative in the state legislature in 1860; and served in the confederate army throughout the war, rising to the rank of colonel. He was a state senator in 1866; was a presidential elector in 1872; and was elected a representative from Arkansas to the forty-fifth, fortysixth and forty-seventh congresses as a democrat.
CRAWFORD, MRS. ALICE [ARNOLD], author, poet, was born in 1850, in Wisconsin. She was a Milwaukee writer who published A Few Thoughts for a Few Friends, a collection of poems. She died in 1874.
