Cosgrove, John
lawyer, congressman, was born Sept. 12, 1839, in Alexandria, N. Y. In 1865 he removed to Boonville, Mo., and engaged in the practice of his profession. He was twice elected city attorney; and in 1872 was elected prosecuting attorney of Cooper county.
He was a delegate to the democratic national conventions of 1872 and 1880; and was elected a representative from Missouri to the forty-eighth congress as a democrat.
COSSETT, FRANCEWAY RANNA, clergyman, author, was born April 24, 1790, in Claremont, N. H. He was a Cumberland presbyterian clergyman of Tennessee. He published The Life and Times of Ewing, which gives a history of the beginnings of the Cumberland presbyterian denomination. He died July 3, 1863, in Lebanon, Tenn.
