Cooper, Mark Anthony

congressman, was born April 20, 1800, in Hancock county, Ga. He was a representative in congress from that state from 1839 to 1843.

He died March 17, 1885.

COOPER, MARY CATHERINE RYAN, educator, artist, poet, was born in 1863, in Louisiana. After receiving a thorough education from the Wheeling Female college of West Virginia, she entered educational work. She is the author of a volume entitled Poems of Hope; has contributed extensively to current literature, and is an artist of rare ability.
