Coney, Patrick H
journalist, lawyer, was born March 10, 1848, in Newbury, Vt. At the age of fifteen years he became a member of the companies A and H of the one hundred and eleventh regiment, New York volunteer infantry, from 1863-65; and in June of the latter year was transferred to company H, fourth regiment New York heavy artillery.
He was wounded in front of Petersburg, Va., on June 16, 1864; and in October, 1864, he was detailed as dispatch bearer for General Nelson A. Miles. In 1880 he established the National Banner at Topeka, Kan.; and became associated with the Topeka Daily Capital, and in 1885 he was admitted to the bar; practices his profession at Topeka; and is now president of the Republican Silver Leaf of the state. During the World's Columbian exposition he was president of the Lapland Exhibit company.
