Conely, Edwin F

lawyer, state legislator, was born Sept. 7, 1847, in New York city. He moved to Michigan with his parents when six years of age; received a thorough education; and graduated from the law department of the university of Michigan. During 1891-93 he was professor of law in the university of Michigan. In 1877 he served as a representative in the Michigan state legislature. In 1880-92 he was a delegate to the national democratic conventions; and during 1890-96 he was a member of the Detroit board of library commissioners.

For thirteen years he was connected with the Michigan troops, and attained the rank of colonel and president of the state military board.
