Coffin, Abraham Burbank
lawyer, legislator, was born March 31, 1831, in Gilead, Maine. He attended Andover and Phillips academy; and in 1856 graduated from Dartmouth college.
In 1858 he was admitted to the bar; and has a law office in Boston, Mass. He has held various public offices in Winchester, Mass.; in 1875 was a member of the Massachusetts house of representatives; and in 1877-78 was a member of the state senate. In 1886-87 he was a member of the governor's council; and for four years was chairman of the Massachusetts state board of gas, fuel, electric commissioners.
