Chambers, David
journalist, author, was born in 1780, in Allentown, Pa. He was elected state printer; and when the seat of government was removed to Columbus, he was appointed secretary of the senate. During the years 1812 and 1813 he was aid-de-camp to General Cass; and was a representative in congress from Ohio from 1821 to 1823. He subsequently served a number of years in the state legislature of Ohio; was speaker in 1844; was a member of the constitutional convention of 1851; and was also elected mayor of Zanesville. He died Aug. 8, 1864, in Zanesville, Ohio.
