Carson, George

lawyer, state senator, jurist, was born Feb. 5, 1841, in Jennings county, Ind. He served in the civil war as a soldier; in 1878-80 was a member of the Iowa legislature; served in the senate in 1884-86; was on the district bench 1887-91, and in 1896 was elected mayor of Council Bluffs, Iowa.

CARSON, HAMPTON LAWRENCE, lawyer, author, was born Feb. 21, 1852, in Philadelphia, Pa. He is a prominent lawyer of Philadelphia and the author of The History of the One Hundredth Anniversary of the Promulgation of the Constitution of the United States, and The History of the Supreme Court of the United States.
