Cady, Albemarle
soldier, was born Feb. 15, 1807, in Keene, N. H. He was graduated at the United States military academy in 1829; served against the Indians in Florida until 1842, and was at the siege of Vera Cruz and in the battles of Cerro Gordo, Churubusco, and Molino del Rey. At the beginning of the civil war he was on duty on the Pacific coast, and remained there until 1864. He was retired for disability resulting from long and faithful service, and received the brevet of brigadier-general U. S. A., in 1865. He died March 14, 1888, in New Haven, Conn.
