Austin, David
clergyman, author, was born in 1760 in New Haven, Conn.
He was graduated at Yale college in 1779; and in 1788 was settled as the presbyterian minister in Elizabethtown, N. J. He published The American Preacher, by various ministers; The Downfall of Babylon; a Commentary on the Bible; and several millennial pamphlets and sermons. He died Feb. 5, 1831, in Norwich, Conn.
AUSTIN, FREDERICK ELLSWORTH, lawyer, legislator, was born Aug. 6, 1865, in Taunton, Mass. He served in the city council of Taunton, Mass., where he has attained prominence as a political leader.
In 1894 he was elected as a member of the Massachusetts state legislature.
