Arthur, William E
lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born March 3, 1825, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He removed with his parents to Covington, Ky., where he was educated; studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1850. He was elected attorney for the ninth judicial district, and served from 1856 to 1862; was a presidential elector in 1860; elected judge of the ninth judicial district in 1866; and was elected to the forty-second and fortythird congresses. ASBURY, A. EDGAR, banker, business man, was born Aug. 16, 1836, in Virginia.
He received his education at the Rector college, Virginia, and at Allegheny college of Meadville, Pa. He served four years in the war and was captain in the confederate states army. This successful financier and business man has been the president of the American bank of Higginsville, Mo., for the past twenty years.
