Andrews, William E
educator, congressman, was born near Oskaloosa, Iowa. He entered Simpson college, Indianola, Iowa, in 1874; was elected superintendent of the schools of Ringgold county, Iowa, in 1879; graduated from Parsons college, Fairfield, Iowa, in 1885; was a member of the faculty of Hastings (Neb.) college, 1885-93; elected vice-president of the college in 1889, and president of the Nebraska State Teachers' association in 1890. He was a member of the Nebraska republican state central committee, 1891-92; was private secretary to the Hon. Lorenzo Crounse, governor of Nebraska, 1893-94; and was elected to the fifty-fourth congress as a republican.
