Allen, Fred Hovey
clergyman, author, was born in 1845 in New Hampshire. He is a clergyman, author of the text in a number of popular art works, such as Great Cathedrals of the World; Modern German Masters; The Bowdoin Collection; The Doré Album: The Gerome Album; Discovery and Conquest of Peru; and Discovery and Conquest of Mexico.
ALLEN, FREDERICK DE FOREST, educator, author, was born in 1844 in Ohio.
He has been a professor of classical philology at Harvard university since 1880; and the author of Remnants of Early Latin; and Greek Versification in Inscriptions.
