Alexander, John
congressman, was elected a representative in congress from Ohio May 4, 1813, serving till 1817.
ALEXANDER, JOHN EDMINSTON, clergyman, genealogist. In 1842 he became a clergyman of the presbyterian church, and for the ten years during 1853-62 was principal of the Miller academy of Washington, Ohio, where he had been pastor for twenty years. He is the author of a Historical Sketch of Greeneville Church, Tenn.; a History of the Synod of Tennessee; A Record of the Alexander Family, and other works.
